Preconditions for Using the Portal [3]

Client Portal Requests are sent to Individuals. A request can be sent to one Individual or to all Individuals linked to the client.

This means that, whether the client is an Organisation or an Individual, there must be an Individual record in PracticeFlow for the person receiving the request.

The Individual must:

  • Have an email address to receive emails from PracticeFlow.
  • Have portal access enabled. This is enabled by default.

If the client is an individual

Nothing else is required. The portal request can be sent directly to that Individual.

If the client is an Organisation

  • At least one individual must be linked to that organisation.
  • You can then send the portal request to one linked Individual or all linked Individuals.

Linked individuals can have any relationship type: Client, Prospect or Contact.

The relationship type does not determine whether the Individual can use the portal.

You can find information about linking Individuals to Organisations here.

If no linked individual exists, the Client Portal Requests section in the task is disabled (greyed out).
