Using the Documents View
If you’re on one of our current Professional or Enterprise plans, you can store documents in three different places in PracticeFlow:
- Against an Organisation or Individual
- Against a specific task
- Through the Client Portal
The Documents grid brings these together in one place, so you can view and access documents across all of your clients.
Opening the Documents view
Documents appears as a main tab next to Tasks.

Using the Documents grid
The Documents grid works in the same way as the other PracticeFlow grids. You can:
- Sort documents by clicking a column heading
- Filter the grid to narrow down the documents shown
- Choose which columns to display
- Search for documents
- Preview supported file types
- Download individual documents
- Select and download multiple documents
This makes it easier to find documents without having to open each individual client or task.
Where documents come from
Documents shown in the grid may have been:
- Added directly to an Organisation or Individual
- Attached to a task
- Sent or received through the Client Portal
The Client Portal remains the main way to securely request and exchange documents with clients. However, documents sometimes arrive through other channels or do not relate to a particular task. These can still be stored against the appropriate client or task and accessed through the Documents view.
