Group Field For Organisations

The Group field allows related organisations to be linked together.

It can be used where one organisation is the legal parent of another, or simply where you want to group related companies together for management or reporting purposes.

For example, if DRC Ltd and EFG Ltd sit under ABC Ltd, select ABC Ltd in the Group field for both organisations. The Group field on ABC Ltd itself should be left blank.

Organisation Grid

The Group field can be displayed in the grid using the Column Chooser.

This allows you to see the Organisation and its Group alongside each other and to sort or filter using the Group field.

Client Side Panel

When organisations have been linked to a Group, the side panel for the Group organisation shows the number of organisations sitting underneath it.

The organisation count is clickable. Select it to open the Organisations grid, automatically filtered to show the organisations within that Group.

You can also obtain the same view by filtering the Group column directly in the Organisations grid.

Importing Group information using the CSV import template

Group relationships can also be created when importing Organisations.

In the import file, enter the registration number of the Group organisation against each organisation that should sit underneath it.

The Group organisation itself must have the Group field left blank.
