Companies House Integration
PracticeFlow integrates with Companies House to retrieve key company information and keep it up to date. For organisations linked to Companies House, selected information is synchronised automatically and cannot be edited directly in PracticeFlow.
Linking a company to Companies House
A limited company must have a valid Companies House registration number when it is imported into PracticeFlow.
The registration number is used to link the organisation to its Companies House record. Without it, PracticeFlow cannot synchronise the company with Companies House.
You can also open the company directly at Companies House using the View in Companies House link in Organisation Details.
Information synchronised from Companies House
The following information is currently synchronised:
Company details
- Name
- Type, for example Limited Company
- Registration Number
- Date of Incorporation
- Year End
Registered address
- Address
- Town
- County
- Postcode
Accounts
- Last Made Up To
- Next Made Up To
- Due Date
Confirmation Statement
- Last Date
- Next Date
- Due Date
These fields are sourced from Companies House and cannot be edited directly in PracticeFlow.
If the information is incorrect, it should be updated at Companies House. PracticeFlow will then retrieve the updated information when the organisation is next synchronised.
Automatic synchronisation
Companies House information is automatically synchronised with PracticeFlow each night.
The Last Synced field in Organisation Details shows when the company was last updated from Companies House.
You can also retrieve the latest information at any time by selecting Sync now.

Accounts and Confirmation Statement dates
PracticeFlow retrieves the relevant Accounts and Confirmation Statement dates from Companies House. These dates are also used by PracticeFlow when calculating and maintaining the relevant Smart Tasks and filing deadlines.
Because the underlying filing information comes from Companies House, changes to a company's filing dates can be reflected in PracticeFlow following synchronisation.
Companies that are not linked to Companies House
Not every organisation in PracticeFlow needs to be linked to Companies House. For example, sole traders and other entities that do not have a Companies House registration number can be maintained without a Companies House connection.
For limited companies, including the registration number when importing the organisation ensures that the Companies House integration is available and the relevant information can be kept synchronised.
In progress: Company status information
We are extending the Companies House integration to retrieve two additional fields:
- Company Status
- Company Status Detail
